Isabel Croxatto Galería in collaboration with Galería Nueva Madrid, presents two solo exhibitions: Ensamblajes Territoriales (Territorial Ensembles) by Johans Peñaloza, and La Tierra Prometida by the established Chilean artist Coco González Lohse open to the public from June 3 to 30, in Calle Doctor Fourquet 10, Madrid.
The exhibition Ensamblajes Territorialesby Johans Peñaloza is composed of 12 monochromatic paintings created on raw canvas, starring vestiges of the recent social outbreak in Chile. In these paintings, we see silent traces of this outburst; fire, destruction, and burning objects become landscapes of a confrontation.
Daniel Silvo, director of Galeria Nueva, comments: "The absence of color in Peñaloza's work reminds us of the representation of the world that Bosco would make in the previous folding panels of his triptych "The Garden of Earthly Delights", also without characters, also desolate. The grisaille emphasizes that feeling of despair and drama, also reminding us of the series of engravings "Los disasters de la Guerra", by Francisco de Goya ".

ABOUT THE PROCESS OF ENSAMBLAJES TERRITORIALES
Ensamblajes Territoriales (Territorial Ensembles) emerges as the result of my forays into the demonstrations that have taken place since 18 October 2019 in Santiago, Chile.
In these explorations, I use the camera to capture certain events during the gatherings of demonstrators in different parts of Santiago, which are used as model-images that preserve fleeting moments amidst a context of tension. These photographs are used to relate affectively to the captured instant, reinterpreting it through painting.

Returning to painting and the painter's craft is a quest to use the effect and affection that painting gives us in its contemplation.
